I would file a civil law suit against both the school district and the teacher personally for restricting and punishment, for a Constitutional right.

Not right. It's a tough topic to bring up in a school discussion, but if the kid is voicing his opinion or belief in a non-confrontational manner then he should be allowed to do so.

I'd still file a law suit, for it even happening and going down like it did.
He was suspended and harassed by a public paid employee on a 1st amendment right. It should cost them big time, to send a message and to make sure nothing comes close to that.

Call the ACLU. They take these kind of cases too you know.

Or not - for once a school principal has some clue how the First Amendment works. Good on him/her.
