I do not support any draft in the US military. I think the US should get out of the UN and its "peacekeeping" forces and we have no businesstolerating any POTUS using NATO to get around the Constitutionally required declaration of war by Congress.

If the standing ovations that Congress members gave to Netanyahu are any indication; Congress would enthusiastically support drafting US troops to defend Israel. I mean the US launched a war of aggression on Iraq with a flimsy casus belli and most Senate members (including many hypocritical Democrats) voted in favor of it. If many Congress members can support an unprovoked war of aggression, then I am sure most Congress members would support drafting US troops to defend Israel since it will be nowhere near as politically difficult.

Statists usually do. Our military works better when those serving want to serve not have to serve. While I know the draft has been used before I'm not certain how one can argue its Constitutionality when the people are sovereigns and not servants of the state.
