I don't see what the AP version did wrong in this transcript.
Obama is (obviously) African American and was talking (with full-on 'blaccent') to an audience filled with AA's.....the transcript is accurate in reflecting what Obama said, IMO.
He was definitely talking that way to 'get his point across'....and that should not be edited!
It was a very condescending speech. How dare those bedroom slipper wearing, layabouts, complain about high unemployment, increased homelessness and poverty, 0bama is the president, don't they realize, he has a green jobs agenda that he needs to focus all his attention on.

If a white GOP did this, it would be racism. A white Democrat....no problem. A black Democrat....expected. Truly sad when our own expectations of what we deserve, are so low....
He could just say" I'm black, now go out there and fight for me, even if I won't fight for you." He could also say " I'm white, now go out there and fight for me, even if I won't fight for you."

Basically, anyone with any "Black" characteristic "looks Black," to the point that someone like Halle Berry's daughter, who is probably about 10-20% African in ancestry, will be considered a Black woman in America. That's just how things are. White people may or may not like Obama, but they will never identify with him as being one of them.
With his name and his appearance, Barack Obama found out early in life that there would be no way he'd ever be able to identify as a white man in America, and he never even attempted to do it. That was smart on his part. He'd have been a laughingstock.
