seems like the brits are taking the most foolish aspects of US 'diversity' babble and going completely nutso with them.

From the Wicked Witch of the West in the Wizard of Oz to Meg, the good witch from the Meg and Mog children's books, witches have always dressed in black.

But their traditional attire has now come in for criticism from equality experts who claim it could send a negative message to toddlers in nursery and lead to racism.

Another staple of the classroom - white paper - has also been questioned by Anne O'Connor, an early years consultant who advises local authorities on equality and diversity.

Dress witches in pink and avoid white paper to prevent racism in nuseries, expert says - Telegraph

But if witches now have to wear pink, wouldn't that be sexist too?

Fairly tale's are changed all the time to suit the time usually in bigger ways. Some fairy tales that we grew up with had violence taken out or ending's changed. Hell red riding hood had sexual undertones in the original and was changed because of the kids. A change in clothing color should not be that big of a deal.

Uh... I don't consider white paper to be good or bad. It's just paper. And the reason most paper we write or draw on is white? Because the majority of the instruments we write/draw with are NOT white!

How about this: human beings are not actually the color white or black. So why don't we stop calling people black or white and then impressionable toddlers won't associate witches in black clothes with black people (when does that ever happen?). We already stopped calling people yellow and red, so dropping white and black for human identification purposes shouldn't be so hard.

Is not writing with A BLACK pencil and example of exploiting (using and abusing) a minority?

PS: How do you get to be a "diversity consultant"?
