There would be a lot more race diversity in that line!
Exactly, see the pic reconmark posted showing folks lining up for jobs in Detroit. A lot more diverse and a lot less people than the people lining up for housing assistance in a city with some of the lowest housing cost in the nation.
Hmmm 2000 for jobs and the line appears to be conservatively about 30-40% white in a city 80% Black. Compared to "tens of thousands" for free housing goodies. Reconmark's attempt to deflect= fail.
Gee why would anyone need "free housing goodies" in CT these days?
Everytime you have some government program, it's always huge swaths of Black people waiting in line... probably because everyone else is @ work.
It seems like the community as a whole is incapable of taking care of themselves.
In my area, you see huge lines of white people lining up for government assistance. I would imagine a few blacks are in line as well. Of course, the media will never show whites standing in line for government aid.
I have seen a black people who have done well. Herman Cain, Bill Cosby, Colin Powell to name a few. It is a matter of upbringing and not a matter of race.
You start a thread where approx 400 people are lining up for some sort of assistance. You use this as another opportunity to suggest that black people do not want to work.
Then in post #16, you post this line of garbage, specifically mentioning Detroit.[/b]
Now, let's go back, only 400 people in connecticut seeking one time financial assistance, that was your silly post and proof that black people do not want to work. That was your premise and nothing else.
I in turn posted an article and picture showing thousands of Metro Detroiters lined up for hours seeking work. Blows your silly premise right out of the water, case closed.
2,000 job-seekers line up for Quicken Loans openings
Candice Williams/ The Detroit News
From The Detroit News: Metro and State | 2,000 job-seekers line up for Quicken Loans openings | The Detroit News (http://detnews.com/article/20110917/METRO/109170405/2-000-job-seekers-line-up-for-Quicken-Loans-openings#ixzz1Z9qd03xL - broken link)
Yet another fail. Almost as bad as when you trotted out the Oklahoma land rush as a legitimate comparison to the mostly Black folks lining up for Section 8 vouchers in Dallas a couple months ago.
First of all I never said Black Americans don't want jobs that was other posters. You posted a pic that represented 2000 people waiting in line for jobs at one employer in Detroit as a rebutall to the contention that Blacks don't want jobs.
Ok fine but my point is not that Blacks don't want jobs, just that too many of us are dependent on government assistance. So I replied with a story in the same city that showed a line ten times larger as the job line and a lot less diverse.

So only Black people in Hartford, a city where Blacks don't even make up the largest group, had their houses destroyed? Try again your logic does not compute.

And if you were to actually read the article you would have seen the the assistance was being made available through twelve state offices.
Hartford is the capitol of CT, so (DUH) people will have to travel TO the Hartford state office or one of the eleven others office to apply for the assistance.
Does it "compute" for you now, Mr Lost in Space robot?
As for ineligible food stamp recipients who stood needlessly in line, Dearborn said, "We can't control if somebody wants to stand in the line. If something is on Facebook that's incorrect, that's not our fault."
Sounds like SOMEBODY posted incorrect information on their FB page which got the attention of their friends, who spread the incorrect info through their own networks.

If all of these people are sooo poor that they need government handouts...what are they using to access FB?
For some people hatred is a religion. Never bother to try to change a man's religion. Just ignore them as delusional.
