Christie suspended the film tax credit program in 2010 to close a budget deficit, but the 2009 season still qualified.

He said in a statement he's "duty-bound" to ensure taxpayers aren't footing a bill for a project that "does nothing more than perpetuate misconceptions about the state and its citizens."
Gov. Christie to Snookie: No tax break for you - Business - US business - msnbc.com

I thought Republicans were supposed to treat everyone equally and support freedom of speech. Guess not.

The only thing Gov Christie hurt was unions...

His decision was right, at this point in time the show needs money like Snookie needs a boob job...

This NJ State tax payer agrees.

In this economy there are better places to spend the tax dollars.

UNprincipled? In what Bizarro World?

So he's gonna ask state employees to pay more toward their benefits but give these cretins a tax break? New Jerseyans should get down on their knees and thank heaven they don't have a crook like Corzine for a governor anymore.

Chris Christie for President.

Huh? How is the production company, that produces a multiple million dollar show, having their free speech rights violated. There is nothing in the constitution that requires a state to PAY for someones speech. My, my, the left seems to be getting their panties in a twist with the over reach on this one!

Why should a TV show get a tax credit? I thought the Left was against that kind of stuff?

Christie on Monday blocked a $420,000 film credit that was approved for the show last week by the state Economic Development Authority.
The money was supposed to cover production costs for the hit reality series' inaugural 2009 season.
What kind of crooks are still in NJ? Who in their right mind would think that the taxpayers should fund filming for a really bad reality TV show? At least Christy has sone sense....more than can be said for the Economic Development Agency.
