Christianity is simply further along in its religious evolution.
Not necessarily. We can thank a tighter leash on Chrisitian fundamentalists from running a muck. They have done so in the past, still do it where they can, killing even each other (Ireland), and will repeat the idiocy of the past at an opportune time. As it is today, a lot of "Christians" propagate the state of Palestinians today, and largely because of their religious beliefs. So, the lunacy exists, it just happens to be a bit under control.
Gayness is illegal in certain countries, there is one in Africa where you can be stoned to death for being gay.
To us, it seems a little backward, but to them, it's the law.
If they try to impose any of their ridiculous laws on me, I'm sure to complain, but until then, the best we can do is work to try to educate them that it just isn't really done any more !!
None of us hve the right to go to their country and tell them how to run it.

All countries have laws which are irrelevant to modern standards, it's just that in most countries, we don't choose to enforce them
In Alabama, for example, incestuous marriages are legal.
Heathen much ?
Perhaps another country should invade Alabama to end this disgusting practice
It's illegal to step out of a plane in flight if you are in Maine.
In Utah, it is illegal to detonate any nuclear weapon.
Oh, and here's one for you.
In Texas, homosexuality is a misdemeanour.
Point is, mind your own business.
There are some who argue that if America had done that from the get-go, events like 9/11 would never have happened.
Put your own house in order first before you try to run the world
How many people have been killed over the last decade in Africa because they were Muslims, by Christians?
boy do you have it wrong.....Muslims have attacked and killed Africans because they were Christian. Christians have fought back after being persecuted. Same thing in Indonesia. When people get fed up, they attack back.

hey, I here ya and I agree with you. Let the world go to hell. Closed door policy is the way to go.

The christian leaders are stoking violence against the Muslims also.
Um...yeah..no. One guy does not make it all Christian leaders. And having policies in place that seem discriminatory against one group does not stoke violence.
I could rebutt with links of Muslims attacking Christians in Nigeria, Sudan, Indonesia, etc etc etc but I'll let you google it instead.
That law is as Ancient as Islam itself is, and it is why countries like Egypt [today] only have small remnant Christian populations compared to how large they were in the past [Egypt used to be majority Christian prior to Islamic rule]. Over a period of hundreds of years under Islamic rule, the end result is always in Islam's favor as far as numbers go since if you convert from Islam you die...But a Christian can become a Muslim and thats fine. Its a long term "faith" drain designed to kill off non Muslim faiths, and it has worked extremely well since the Middle East and other areas today are 90%+ Muslim now.
Following that reasoning -
Iran is a Islamic Republic, and Islamic law states that if you were born into Islam then you are Muslim for life. If you deviate from it the punishment is death. This man converted out of Islam, so the Islamic thing to do is to kill him. End of story.
He broke law and is paying the price for it.
