Seriously, the city is taking some heat regarding the school. Mainly the fear is that the curriculum might morph into something with more religious overtones.
With the hundreds of different ethnicities here in NYC area, why was an Arab culture the first one to be done? Some people perceive this as pandering. Questions arise about how the school will tolerate specific religious customs of the Muslim students while maintaining a separation of church and state. I think it will be a very delicate line to walk on.
