I wonder why governments always come down on the side of the creditor instead of the debtor? The mortgage boom of the early 2000's was not designed to assure everybody had a house but to assure everybody had a mortgage. This economy is designed around using debt to force everyone to work to pay the debt before they make a living. I am glad we have abolished, for now, debt slavery and prisions.

Obstacles to economic advancement typically come from state and especially local governments. Local prohibitions of home businesses (zoning) and expensive permit and license requirements abound. Rules making home ownership out of reach of the poor and making renting more expensive (e.g. NIMBY policies, high unfair taxes on rental property) are common.

You should calculate how much government redistributes from the poor to you sometime.

Local taxes are NOT regressive. You can still move to a town or county that has LOWER personal property taxes. Federal taxes defy borders.

Please explain how I think people should have a right to other's labor?

I think Americans should have the right to PURCHASE from a willing seller what they can afford, and no more than what they can afford. Where do you find a claim to a right to the labor of others? Do you not have the right to purchase a loaf of bread from a willing seller? Is real property somehow different that this right should be infringed by government?
Huh? This makes no sense. How does the government infringe on someones right to buy or sell property? The transaction is really no different than buying bread.

You want a right for the poor to buy homes. Poor people usually can't afford to buy homes. How do you enforce this mythical "right"?

They do that whenever they make a vote for the Left.
You blow a lot of wind, but where's your links to back up your lack of facts? The right has NEVER done anything for anyone other than themselves and what big biz tells them to do.

They would rather give trillions to a corrupt company such as KBR than help anyone poor within their own country.

Point me to your local zoning code and I will show you. What's the smallest allowed lot size in your area?

It is true that poor people usually can't afford to buy homes on quarter-acre lots, but homes do not inherently need to have a quarter acre of land surrounding them. Obviously there are homes that the poor could afford IF government allowed the purchase thereof.

The way you enforce this "right" is to elect leaders who actually are committed to protecting property rights for everyone. Sadly, most conservatives support property rights for only the middle and upper classes.

I'd like to buy a 20 x 20 house on a 50 x 50 piece of land. I do not have a car and don't "need" a place to park a car. Generally not legal outside of rural America.

The poor are voting, when voting against handouts, FOR self-dignity.
The leaders of the left know that they are degrading anyone that they offer to care for, "cradle to grave" except the relatively few that literally cannot, physically or mentally provide for themselves.
They don't care....the left "buys votes" with their freebies.

Actually, most countries deny entry to poor people from other countries except they occasionally allow "guest workers" to come and do the work they can't get enough natives to do.

We allow guest workers as well, they are often called illegal immigrants.
