Communism has been as much a failure as the Free Market. Neither has been applied in reality, as they are both way too ideological to fit in the real world. Communism assumes that people can work together to a common cause, and not the government but only them can bring about meaningful positive change. But people, as a whole, don't quite work to that effect. They succumb to authorities of their choosing.

Isn't the end result of Communism the dissolution of the Government? How many people on here knew that? My guess is very few

I edited my post as you responded and addressed that very point. My guess on how many people would be... a tiny fraction.

More to the point, how many libs, progs or Democrats have read Marx? How many protestors on Wall St. right now have any idea they are under the sway of Marxian revolutionary socialism? How many lefties have just sucked up certain ideas about society and what's "right and fair" without having any idea where it came from?

oh for heaven's sake, lighten up a little. One thing wrong with left wingers, they have no sense of humor and do not understand sarcasm. of course for those who support the economic theory there are countries you can live in that you will be the majority..

The Democratic party supports the Capiltalist system. This applies to virtually every liberal as well, and the vast majority of progressives in the USA.

Not sure why you would ask if they read Marx, as they ahve little interest in it, either in opposing or supporting it.

But it isn't the liberals and progressives that waste their time and effort spelling Marxism and Socialism every step of the way. Consequently, their understanding of the subject is moot. Those who use and abuse the words, stand to be questioned.
