If nobody knows about anyone's sexual orientation, there shouldn't be any problem.
I mean, just because someone is gay, doesn't mean they will be attracted to any soldier of the same sex around them.
It's like being straight and working in the office, you work with dozens of people of the opposite sex and may not feel attracted to any of them. And even if you like one of them, you may keep it to yourself because you know you shouldn't get involved with a colleague.

That was the purpose of "Don't ask, don't tell" that Obama just repealed.

Terrible analogy.

There is NO comparison to working in an office and sleeping and bathing in the same quarters and I think you probably know that. But nice try.

Except that office colleagues don't generally share sleeping quarters and showers...

Damn. Are you people seriously this obtuse? Or just incredibly disingenuous?

So what? Would I care if a woman I am not attracted to takes a shower next to me or sleeps in a bed next to me?
Sometimes it seems to me that people think gays are dogs...

Are there any statistics on the percentage of homosexuals in the military? Are there more or fewer than in the general population? I don't think most gays would want to join the military in the first place.

No, the purpose of don't ask don't tell, which is unconstitutional in many areas, was that we only know HETEROSEXUAL people's orientations, and they got special priviledge because they could reveal that they're heterosexual and NOT get kicked out of the military. How many people who revealed that they were straight were kicked out again?

No, the DADT policy only applied to HOMOSEXUAL troops, if it applied to EVERYONE there's be no problem.. but since it didn't it was deemed unconstitutional.

because we're all serial rapists? you're talking to a celibate gay person here who would never even consider sexually assaulting someone.

Damn. Are you people seriously this obtuse? Or just incredibly disingenuous?
No, that would be you.
