Yes, we need to eliminate ATF.

So, run a drug smuggling and murder factory and the ATF will provide you with guns.

But one toke and you can't register a gun.

BTW, I wonder if the Mexican drug runners completed ATF Form 4473......

Default more guns given to Mexico straw buyers help to prove Obama's numbers of guns originating in US

Fast and Furious is the attempt by Obama admin to support their cooked numbers regarding the number of guns used in Mexico. Remember the high % of guns claimed to be purchased in the USA?

When you sell guns without tracking them to straw buyers for the drug cartel your intent is clear.

That intent is to demonstrate lax US gun laws enable the violence coming from Mexico, validate your theoretical estimates and establish the US as a major contributor to Mexico's problems. To fix the problem pass more restrictive firearm legislation! Works great, except Holder was put in charge and his colossal ineptness has hurt the adminstrations regulatory attempts to restrict firearms while claiming to be lenient toward gun ownership. Replacing our constitution with UN regulations is at the heart of the matter.

What new gun laws are you talking about? What new federal gun laws has President Obama proposed? I know of no new federal gun restrictions imposed or contemplated by the current administration. Please enlighten me as I am a staunch supporter of the 2nd and citizen's rights concerning firearms. If you got something specific, spit it out, if not, go stand at the back of the line with the rest of the "chicken littles" who frequent the survival and SHTF forums.

Here is a significant new regulatory policy:

ATF to Require Information on Frequent Gunbuyers in Border States

Or here is a link from Huffington Post, if you think the other link is a biased propaganda conspiracy to cast aspersions on the fine, upstanding, gun-loving folks at the ATF:

ATF To Require Gun Retailers In Four States To Alert Feds To Frequent Buyers Of Rifles

"... Under the new policy, federal firearms licensees in Texas, California, Arizona and New Mexico must report purchases of two or more of some types of rifles by the same person in a five-day span. The requirement applies to purchases of semi-automatic rifles that have detachable magazines and a caliber of greater than .22." (or basically the overwhelming majority of rifles sold).

This is the most nutso, of nutso threads since there has been no changes or suggestion of changes to existing firearm statutes on the Federal level. This is all a figment of Wayne LaPierre imagination, strike that, need to be relevant having been eclipsed by the tea party.

It is impossible to explain why the federal government uses taxpayer dollars to arm drug runners and Mexican drug cartels while holding a double standard over Americans at large.

That said, firearms and any mind altering substances, DO NOT MIX!
Oh please alcohol is completely legal and much more destructive on a society level than f'ing pot could ever be.

Go read the OP. It's about a new federal restriction on medical pot users and gun ownership. It is a NEW Federal restriction.

Can you read? There is a NEW FEDERAL RESTRICTION, not a new law.

It most certainly is NOT a new federal mandate on pot users and gun ownership.

1. First off, nowhere is it stated or implied that if a person owns a safe full of assault weapons and gets a Marajuana Medical Card they have to give up their firearms. They just can't purchase any new ones from a FFL dealer due to the form4473 question pertaining to the use of marajuana.

2. Marajuana is illegal on the federal level and question 7 on the form4473 deals with this and has always dealt with this. If you have a marajuana card and answer NO to question 7 then you are lying and subject to federal prosecution and this has always been the case.

The only way you could be right is if the federal government came out and said that State medical marajuana laws trump federal gun laws and there's no way the feds are ever going to do that due to the pre-emption clause in the constitution.

Edit to add:
Now if the BATFE come out with a revised form 4473 that askes the question "Do you have a State Issued Medical Marajuana Card?" then you would have something to hang your hat on.

It is pretty easy to take two Ruger 10-22's, and make a crank operated Gatling Gun. 2, 50 round tubs. Fully legal semi-auto machine gun, 100 rounds in less than 20 seconds.
