Spain: Jihad against dogs

Quote:
Spanish authorities are investigating the recent deaths by poisoning of more than a dozen dogs in Lérida, a city in the northeastern region of Catalonia that has become ground zero in an intensifying debate over the role of Islam in Spain.

All of the dogs were poisoned in September [...] in Lérida's working class neighbourhoods of Cappont and La Bordeta, districts that are heavily populated by Muslim immigrants and where many dogs have been killed in recent years.
Local residents say Muslim immigrants killed the dogs because according to Islamic teaching dogs are "unclean" animals.
Over the past several months, residents taking their dogs for walks have been harassed by Muslim immigrants opposed to seeing the animals in public. Muslims have also launched a number of anti-dog campaigns on Islamic websites and blogs based in Spain.

Dogs do have some very nasty habits. I laugh every time I see someone smooching a dog.

They keep their wives as pets, and they think of THEM as unclean.

What the hell's the difference?

You've got to be pretty damn evil to hate dogs enough to kill them.

Spaniards (though admittedly, not in Catalonia) also think bull fighting is "brave" and a "noble sport."

Yeah, a man with arrows and a sword killing a bull is so virtuous.

I don't advocate the killing of dogs for fun, sport, or religion, but I also don't advocate the killing of bulls for the same reasons. Millions of Spaniards disagree with me. If they would get their own house in order, it would be easier to agree with them on the "unnecessary killing of animals" front.

Contrary to popular belief, bullfighting in Spain is most popular in Andalusia as that is where the tradition originated. Same with flamenco.

Spaniards are a buncha Catholic bull stabbers, man.

The whole country is full of them.

Spain is crawling with Catholic Bull Stabbers.

The vicarious ones are the sickest.

They go up to skinny guys in silk and offer to pay them to stab a bull so they can watch.

And, it ain't hard to guess what they do while they watch.

Aren't dogs considered pretty good eatin' in some Asian countries?

At the risk of coming off as judgemental, what a crazy world.
