Don't the Mormons have a living prophet that they also hold in just as high regard?
Yes, but they look to him for spiritual and doctrinal guidance. Period. Consider this: Harry Reid and Glenn Beck are both Mormons. That alone ought to tell you how much influence the LDS prophet has in influencing the political views of the Church's members.
Was Romney even asked for his opinion? If he was, I never heard his answer. I wouldn't be surprised if he felt pretty much the same way as Huntsman on the subject. Mormons are not "anti-science," and, for the most part, they do not believe in a literal 6-day creation (or even a 6000-year creation).

Romney does not impress me as a true believer.
Romney is actually a great deal more devout than Huntsman is.
I would agree that honesty is of vital importance. I'm just wondering why you suspect they're cheating. I mean is there some evidence you could point to, or is this just a gut feeling you have?
I don't recollect having made that accusation, but there I have heard many rumors, which I will not repeat, about Mormons and bad business practices. I don't know if these are true or not, so will not repeat them, but I do hope that they are audited from time to time, the same for other religions.
Yeah, I saw a special on tv. It claimed that they initially were on the East Coast and kept getting run out of town for various reasons: some were crooks, some were dabbling in the supernatural, some accused them of voting in a block to get laws and business favorability to their sect.

I'm sorry, but neither of you have any idea how superficial your understanding of Mormonism is. Regardless of what you may read on the almighty Wiki, there is another side to the story, and a whole lot of facts you're just plain unaware of. The thing is, that discussion belongs on the Religion forum and not on the Politics one.
You don't? Maybe I misread you, then, based on your statement: "I just think it may be cheating..."

I wouldn't put much stock in rumors, the main reason being that those spreading them have no real evidence upon which to base them. When people hate other people, they're willing to do whatever it takes to make them look bad.

I don't actually know what the law requires, but I do know that if it requires a financial audit, the Church would be found to be managing its finances well within the established laws.

It is partially at least about a religion's attempt to influence politics, getting them thrown out of one town after another.
