A prosecutor says the Colorado state senator involved in a crash that killed a pregnant woman in the Texas Panhandle last year has pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of driving on the wrong side of the road.
Sen. Suzanne Williams paid a $200 fine and $68 in court costs, according to Hartley County Attorney Shane Turner. The Amarillo Globe-News reported Friday that Texas law allowed for the dismissal of two seat-belt citations against Williams.

Yeah, it's why Snipes went to prison and Rangel was censured. Both commited the crime of tax evasion. I made the same argument about waterboarding. If it's not so bad, can I do it to my wife and kids to make them compliant? Why no, that would be wrong, eh?
One has to wonder what evidence is not in the article that a Grand Jury chose not to follow the state police recommendation of charges, and why.

"Investigators determined that Williams picked up her 3-year-old grandson from the highway and placed him in a child safety seat inside her car before emergency help arrived."
Dead people, her own grandkids tossed from the car and seriously injured, her own son seriously injured and all she could think about doing was setting the scene so she wouldn't be "caught" without seatbelts on the children. Unbelievable.
"e case garnered national attention in part because Williams is a staunch advocate of child-restraint laws in Colorado, but DPS investigators said none of Williams' passengers -- including her two young grandsons -- were buckled up."

She probably attended the Ted Kennedy school of driving.
If she had been a republican, it would have been in all the headlines across the country.
