Porn in the USA: Conservatives are the biggest consumers
A quick look at the study reveals all sorts of problems: It doesn’t examine individuals, but rather averages across areas, which leads to a red state vs. blue state analysis that allows for startling headlines but in fact tells us very little. One of the findings is that Utah has more per-capita online porn subscriptions than other states. It’s probably also true that Salt Lake City is one of the toughest places in America to pay for a lap dance or a peep show. So what do porn-prone Utahns do? They go online, and skew the very statistics now being trumpeted as newsworthy.
For an antidote, read this data-driven NRO piece by Arthur Brooks on conservatives, liberals, and romance. One highlight, drawn from the 2006 General Social Survey:
About 60 percent more Democrats than Republicans confess to having watched at least one pornographic movie in the past year.
^^^^^^This finding never made the news. I wonder why...........

The sad part is, you know there's republicans on here who see that post, see the pics and mindlessly are convinced all the hot women are in the Republican party, hahaha. They actually believe it That's the funniest part of it.

Oh please. Are you stoned or something.
Realistically, that is a huge Republican traite. With Republicans, there are never any facts that work against their partisan ideology and agenda. No matter how legitimate the source, no matter how solid the physical evidence; Repubs try to spin, twist and sidestep.
Don't get me wrong. Democrats and Liberals also have a fair amount of that in them. But Repubs take mindless partisan denial to a whole new level.
So what you're saying is that your conservative household consumes porn? Got it.
Typical liberal response. What I am saying is that my two teenage boys (one in college) are not gay. Tell me (if you are a straight male) that you never looked at a Playboy when you were a kid.
Obviously, you cannot accept that this "study" is not a real study but is a propaganda piece, as the conclusions made cannot be possible derived from the "data". It is impossible to draw the conclusions that they made from a statistical and scientific standpoint, and is therefore garbage.
Let's review this, as obviously you did not understand the first time
1. The study tracked credit number transactions as an aggregate for states, not individuals.
2. The presumption was made that because a state voted conservative, that the majority of people buying porn in that state are conservate. That is an error in logic and is a conclusion that could not be made from the data provided.
3. The people who voted conservative in a state is a reflection of the political sentiments of registered voters in that state. Keep in mind that less than half of eligible voters in any given state do not even vote. Perhaps those non-registered nor non voting liberals in those states are the major consumers of porn. One cannot make definitive conclusions from the data provided.
4. In my house, I am pretty sure that my teenage boys have looked at online porn (heck, I think all teenage boys probably do). While my boys have access to my credit card number and there has been nothing charged, I would categorize them as infrequent, yet consumers, of porn. They live in a conservative household, therefore my household would probably then be considered a consumer of porn. Did I look at porn (that would be pre-internet) when I was a kid? Heck yes- all guys did. Do I now? Heck no- my testosterone levels have fallen off (as they do as one ages) and I am more interested in cars.
This "study" is a classic example of "garbage in- garbage out" and has far over extended it's "conclusions" based on the data. Any high school student with a very modest degree of knowledge regarding experimental design and statistics would relegate this "study" to the "Journal of Irreproduceable Results".
So according to the cons, this study is bunk because obviously states like Utah have some liberals in them. And, obviously, it's the liberals in this state who are consuming all of the porn. So why are liberals in red states consuming more porn than liberals in blue states? Could it be that it's actually the cons in the red states who are using more porn? Given the fact that porn consumption goes down on Sunday, when the cons go to church, I think this is most likely the case.
