I don't know that the OWS people opposed the bailouts. I think most know it was necessary. They are angry that those that received the bailouts, are not reciprocating to those that bailed them out.

Not what this thread is about and in case you didn't realize it, this is off topic and you are NOT supposed to cross post with the same post in different threads...which you did here and the thread you started with the exact same post.

You think this country is racist now? Just wait until you see how racist this country becomes under socialism.

So a park full of white hippies wouldn't let a black elected official speak... that sounds awfully racist to me.

I would speculate the new groups oppose the no-strings-attached bailouts the banks received. The bank's over leveraged house of cards helped cause the crisis, but in the end, the hundreds of billions in government loans allowed them to snatch up assets for pennies on the dollar after the price was driven down by the crisis they helped to create.

I would also speculate they are opposed to the institutions deemed to large to fail during the last crisis remaining to large to fail.

Once the unions get a hold of something you can be sure it's about to die. I strongly support the idea of unionization and the idea of a liberal/progressive party like the Democrats supposedly are, I just believe the current crop of union "leaders" and Democratic "leaders" are fraud hucksters who look out only for their own power and bottom line while telling the people they're looking out for them.

If OWS is to succeed it needs to remain non-partisan and above political mudslinging. If it allows itself to become astroturf cover for political parties and powerful special interests they will become figureheads propping up the very system they started out railing against.

The key to remaining uncorrupted seems to be remaining essentially leaderless. It will be interesting to see the roll social media plays in the interaction of individuals from both groups and if they seek common ground.

I just watched the video, and i'm completely flabbergasted on several fronts:

1) The crowd chanting and repeating after each other is downright creepy
2) The crowd is indeed a bunch of riff-raff, which is exactly what encompasses the Liberal Left
3) John Lewis has to be absolutely mortified and exceedingly embarrassed for siding with a bunch of nit-wit granola crusties

EMBARRASSING!! CREEPY! HOLY CRAP! I WAS WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO QUEUE JIM JONES!
