"Solyndra is a story of political interference, picking winners and losers. It's salacious because, quite frankly, there were a lot of people giving to President Obama's campaign," Issa said."

Why do you think Obama is pushing so hard for his jobs bill? It pays back another major donor via the company LightSquared.

This is the MOST CORRUPT ADMINISTRATION ever!

I wonder what Mr Issa is going to do with the fact Solyndra started to get DOE loans for solar energy development in 2007. How could President Obama influence a loan and a program nearly two years before taking the oath of office? If this is true Obama has a time macjine. Now the problem illustrated at DOE is not restricted to DOE that most programs are "wired" to give contracts to insiders and that most program managers have networks of favored individuals and companies who do very well in the Federal contracting process. Its just the way things are done the USA.

Actually, I have thought all along that Issa is the chairman of that committee and has been since early this year. Does the fact that Democrats, who were in control of that committee failed to catch the Bush administration, for whatever reason, mean that Solyndra was broke when they got their first money? I think that all this blame Bush crap is getting a bit silly since they went bankrupt during the Obama administration and were headed that direction when the big money went to them under Obama. Of course, you do know that Dems controlled that committee when the ear mark was made. Yep they controlled the House from 2007 to 2011 so maybe they should have done some oversight when they were there.

No, Solyndra did not receive any actual loan approval or funds until the Obama administration pushed it through the DOE. Try to stick to the facts. The DOE rejected the loan under Bush regardless of the Bush administration's wishes. There is a pattern with the Obama administration making loans to green energy with connection to major Obama donors.

Solyndra was going bankrupt when they recieved their last chunk of money from the federal governement.

The real problems is this: why was the protocol breached putting the guarantee to the Obama donor in front of the American taxpayer?

Correction: Solyndra got NO DOE loans before Obama took office; it had merely started the application process during the Bush administration.

The biggest problem with the Solyndra scandal is that Obama admininstration officials broke the law when they subordinated the government's interest in Solyndra to private investors, after the company ran into increasing financial difficulty. This is well documented.

A broader issue is the general philosophy that the government does a better job of using money, even when they totally waste it, than the productive sector of the economy. That Solyndra money came from somewhere--either productive Americans of today, or their children or grandchildren via unsustainable amounts of government debt. There is an excellent chance that more than 50% of voters are on the other side of this philosophy from Obama.
