No. Hispanics, by percentages, are poorer than Blacks. And Whites, by total numbers, account for the majority of poor people in America.
Blaming immorality on poverty is a tired excuse. No one buys it anymore. Compare any other groups below the poverty line and while they have a higher crime rate than the national average, they in no way come close to the Black crime rate. I'm sick of people trying to act like Black crime isn't a serious issue that we need to deal with. Some people don't want to hear that, but we can't fix a problem that we prtend doesn't exist.

The writers of the article were probably betting on people to glossing over it as, "old perv and two teen girls, serves him right". Except that these are quite unattractive, hardened criminals and they are the farthest thing from being a girl. They are women, at least in the legal sense.

@ the OP. There is only really 1 fact that you need to take into account when viewing your srticle. FACT of the matter is that while considered adults (over the age of 18) technically thes 2 are still teenagers (18 and 19 as someone else pointed out). You seem to be smart enough to comprehend that the media will twist words around to grab readers and generate headlines. This article would have been glossed over if it was titled "Two women beat 67 yr old to death" however saying "Teens attach elderly man" will make people stop and read. The accused could have been white, black, brown, purple, or polka dotted and the headline would have been the same.
