B-b-but what about the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade?!?! Gosh, we're so MYOPIC. Love the trolls on this message board.
Is this a default position for the liberals on this board; the "troll" accusation? Did I ruin your good fun of making fun of something you do not consider of any importance? Gosh, sorry to bust up the party.

I'm not even sure why this is in the politics forum. What if the Yankees win the world series and they want to have a parade, will this dampen that as well?

But, I'm sure to you, this is better than Mardi Gras! Just realize that others do not view it with the same level of importance as you have ascribed to it.
You never answered my question. You take offense because you don't like the protests, so don't pretend like you're taking the higher, more objective ground.

Just so you know, I don't think that this is like Mardi Gras, and in case you haven't noticed, the movements are becoming increasingly organized, have released clear statements and demands, and have already insured that they will have a political impact. People are working every day to give the movement more coherence and broader appeal. Allying with people of a variety of political stripes and backgrounds.

I know because I've been there. I doubt you can say the same. Movements don't always start out clear, but when they gain steam they do so quickly, and this has become something no one can ignore.

Mrs. Skeffington is clearly trying to downplay/criticize OWS, and that's fine. That's her right, her prerogative. I'll happily mock her for the stupid insinuation that the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is anything compared to this.

Not everyone may view it as I do, but millions of people have felt it necessary to participate in it, and that means more than any of the mindless rebuttals you're throwing out there. You don't see the irony in complaining about my "troll" comment and then saying "Is this a default position for the liberals on this board"? I'm not a liberal, kiddo, and your posts are laughable.

Really, this could be summed up in one question then. Do you think it best serves the OWS to ruin an American tradition, such as the parade? How much support do you suspect OWS would gather from such actions?

It wouldn't surprise me if liberals ruined another American tradition.

I thought the OWS were down on Wall St. and the parade is up around Central Park, unless you know something i dont i doubt the two events are going to come in contact with each other, also the protesters dont strike me as the type of people that would Grinch a parade meant mostly for kids..

Hmmm. You can look at that a few ways. I doubt they'd still be hanging around that long since wit will be pretty cold by then. On the other hand, they could make a major stink( pun intended) by disrupting the Parade and get major publicity. They would be lashing out at commercialism and corporate greed. But then NBC would have convulsions over whether to come down hard on the people that watch their shows and at the same time lose money and get negative publicity.
I think the city would become extremely unfriendly to the protestors if it looked like they'd disrupt the parade. You'd have the NYC citizens beating them down with the cops not having to lift a finger.
