Either you are not to good at math or you were not really down at Freedom Plaza.
I was there and snapped this picture of the porta johns there are also several portable wash stations, a little honesty from posters would be appreciated.
These are located at the opposite end of park from where stage is located. that is one of the wash stations infront of Johns, some of the johns were actually hadicapped access
What an interesting picture to share here. Who has the burden of paying for those deluxe portable toilets with wash basins--the people who organized the protest or all American taxpayers?
Concerns that is all the article says concerns, but there are no PROBLEMS
Article is a lot about nothing.
Not sure if anything like this happened today, but yesterday there were 500 protesters who materialized around Farragut Square (a bit west of Freedom Plaza) right in the middle of the evening rush hour. The MPD closed off one of the main streets that heads west towards the bridges that cross into Virginia. There was very little advance notice to workers in the nearby buildings.
If you're a parent who is trying to pick up a child at a day care center in NoVa on the way home or a part-time student trying to get to school for an evening class, that's more than a "concern." It's an unscheduled delay, and perhaps a "problem," and some of those who are inconvenienced will come away from that type of situation thinking that the protesters believe their First Amendment rights take priority over the plans and interests of others.
I get that democracy is messy, and that there's more to life than making sure the trains always run on time, but what's going on downtown isn't currently viewed as uniformly positive by all DC residents and workers, and certainly won't be seen that way if the scale of the demonstrations increases.

October 2011.org is paying for them, this a well organised and educated group, they are not a low class group of losers as a few posters here are trying to paint them as.

One of the organisers

Thank you for your response. I feel better knowing the protesters are educated and not 'low class.'
It's good that a NoVA company can benefit from the 'occupy' event.
