Do you think the withdrawal can stimulate our economy?

Well there are around 50K troops left in Iraq. Where will they be deployed? Do you think they will all just head home and spend all their dinars to stimulate the economy? YOu've been listening to Obama touting his jobs bills too much.

Well, the wars aren't done. There are still plenty of troops left in Afghanistan and other places around the world.

I surely hope they don't go too far when they pull out, they may just have to hang a "U-ey" and trot on back.
The sucking sound you'll be hearing when they leave will be Iran steppin' on over and sure as sunshine we'll either have to go back or just write the place off as another "axis of evil" spot on the map.

haha, for all the lib moaning about the contribution of the Iraq war to the deficit, it was only about 3 percent of federal spending at its peak. Blaming all of our budget problems on Iraq was like a guy with $25,000 in credit card debt blaming everything on his cell phone bill. If we had never gone to Iraq we still would be in deep yogurt debt-wise.

Uh, you're serious, right?

It will hurt the economy.

The only reason you're on the internet is because your government is deficit spending $1.5 TRILLION a year that it ain't got.

Any cuts in government spending are going to impact the economy in a negative way.

Just a few miles up the road from me are 450 temporary employees working 6 ten hour days per week making MREs for the troops.

Not any more.

They'll be laid off and won't be able to find work.

A few miles farther and there are more than 1,000 temporary workers making up-armored HUMMVs, and armoring HEMMTs (and a couple hundred full-time workers sucking up over-time).

Not any more.

And just in time for Christmas.

Hopefully the community food bank near them has food to give them for holiday dinners.

No.

And the soldiers will need private sector jobs if you plan to cut down on military spending but Obama is keeping the borders open for all who would like to come and work cheaply here. The soldiers can certainly forget about taking truck driving jobs now that Obama has turned that over to cheap foreign drivers.
