Ooopsy; but have to say, you're every bit as socialistic as many other countries are accused of being by the nimrods on here! You're gonna have a tough uphill slog convincing some on here that all of those descriptors they use to describe many other countries as socialistic don't, in the instance of the US of A, fit the mold.
Exactly right, and thats why the left is railing against the tea party -- who want to put an end to the nanny state. The ironic thing is when true conservatives and independents warn people that socialism is taking over, they say we are drinking koolaid. Hindsight is 20/20 and this mess is creeping up to the point of no return. Once you have people hooked on the social milk they can't get off of it.

2008 data:

It is illegal to pay WIC to illegal aliens. Sue your government.
Illegal aliens don't get Medicaid.
Federal prison system does not track illegal versus legal aliens.
Hey this is easy...you obviously don't know much about this stuff.
One carrier will easily do it with lots left over after we get rid of the silliness.
You ask for sources after I made it clear where you can find them. I don't see you espousing anything but an opinion. You know what they say about assumptions, but who am I to point out the problems with fiscal math that doesn't work.

Let's just not build an air craft carrier every year and those pesky illegals sucking on social programs like vampires will all be covered.
(should I tell him we haven't built a carrier in three years? oops)

I thought I recognized you

Socialism has destroyed countless economies in many countries and none of them have been successful.

Worse yet it's a pyramid scheme where the first in benefit and the last in pay for the first in. This gives it the ability to grow wildly out of control. Ponzi schemes can't be juggled long enough to screw everyone. However, a pyramid scheme is perfect for the task.

It was back in the 70s that politicians were talking about SS going broke and soap boxing "we must do something or the next generation will suffer"... I'm "the next generation," and my sons will never see a dime of what they put into it.

There are 50 million retirees on it, and climbing, with no increase in the population. They are at the top and middle of the pyramid. All they want is for this and the next generations to cover the checks without complaining. Unfunded liabilities and entire generations living for their tomorrow, at the expense of their childrens. When did we become so greedy?

Pass the pina colada, isn't the sand warm today.

A country where socialism works? Ummmm, ummmmm, ummmm. Even for guy like me who was born in the Cuban utopia of Denny Glover,Sean Penn, and Michael Moore, is difficult to say a country where socialism had worked outside the minds of those who have never actually lived under a Socialist regime.

Yes, it's been successful in enslaving people and making them so very dependent upon govt. that they voted themselves true Tyranny.

Enlighten me.
Well too much deregulated Capitalism and Free Trade Agreements is what got us into this crisis in the first place.

It is clear to me that we need more socialism. Not a totally socialist society, but a more mixed economy than we have now. Unfettered capitalism will lead us into messes like this time and time again.

The USSR transforming the Former Russian Empire from an uneducated land of serfs into an Industrial Powerhouse could certainly be seen as a success of socialism.

Utter Hogwash. They come here primarily for jobs...for work...they get. Best guess on balance the break even plus or minus a couple of billion...less than an aircraft carrier.

And to grant citizenship to a child illegally born in this country due to their parents crimes is positively ludicrous! It's like saying if I commit a major bank heist and spend the next 15 years giving my daughter a life of luxury with my ill-begotten gains, that she should be able to keep the house, the cars, the investments, and anything else I purchased for her with the funds because it's not HER fault that I stole the money. After all--- she's a victim as much as the bank, right? And I agree that she would, in fact, also be a victim--- but the fact would remain that the money belongs to the bank and the wrong MUST be righted. It would be MY shame, and MY victimization of my own child, and none others. In fact-- most citizens would probably be out for my blood for doing such a horrid thing to my own child. But I won't see it--- after all--- I was a victim, too... I grew up poor and just wanted better for my child. My intentions were honorable, right??? In fact, I DESERVED that money and shame on anyone who says otherwise!!! You're just prejudiced against people who grew up poor and want more for their children. Shame on you! (And the truth is--- for the most part, I don't "blame" the illegals for trying to get here. I may just do the same thing in their case- who knows? But I DO blame our government for not only selective law enforcement-- but for actually making commission of those crimes in America a cakewalk... And I dam[n] sure blame them for whittling away at the quality of life for me, my child, and all other law abiding citizens of this country in preference, and deference, to criminals.

So, does socialism work? Maybe.

Does "blind" governmental stupidity and misappropriation of TAXPAYER funds? No way!
Many border Mexicans for many years have been born in the states as have many south american children. It is nothing new and generally does not lead to new immigrants. The kids stay wherever and use their status to easily go in and out of the US.

Children of illegals are simply US born citizens who will likely spend their entire life primarily in the US. They are US.

If you are unhappy with the existing situation why would you support policies that make it worse. Unless we get some control over the illegal population and wiggle it down to something we can control it will again grown out of control when the economy turns up. So you stick to your guns to punish the evil illegals and get 50% more for your efforts. Kind of dumb I think.

Zoning socializes property rights and has worked for millions of property owners. Renters get screwed, but this country is all about property owners.
