I want to have Social Security tax applied to all income from all sources for EVERYONE. I also want to see a 90th percentile deduction on Federal Income tax also based on all income from all sources. I want the greedsters to not only pay for my Social Security but to pay for operating the country and government they own and control.

I don't consider payroll tax to be in the same category as income tax.

Payroll tax in many ways, especially for lower income folks is actually more of an investment payment, for future specific long term benefits (medical insurance and payments in old age).

I've always thought lumping payroll tax with income tax was just a way for advocates to "muddy the water" concerning the tax fairness issues.

Yep. And it's actually 51%. 51% pay no federal income tax.

Liberals aren't the sharpest tools in the shed...

Interesting. 10%
That's a big difference.
If you're going to take that tack then you have to also admit that Obama outright lied with his "if you make less than $250k, you won't see ANY of your taxes go up" campaign BS.

One of the very first things he did after being sworn in was to sign the SCHIP bill, which included the two largest tax increases in U.S. history - both of which hit the poor the hardest.

It's widely known and understood that the 53/47 numbers are referring exclusively to income tax. Everybody knows and nobody will dispute that there are other taxes, whether they're federal, state or local, that we all pay. Don't be so disingenuous as to expect us to take your troll thread seriously when everybody knows what those percentages are talking about.

I'm picturing a giant pitcher filled with an oversweetened, fruity children's drink... This pitcher walks and talks, and as it comes crashing through a wall of bricks made from foam, it's proclaiming, "Oh yeah!"
