Whose opinion are we worried about when they lose the moral high ground? Maybe some of our friends and allies but few, if any, Muslims give a damn about things like that.

I applaud what Chavez has accomplished in Venezeula. His biggest achievment is keeping us out of his country. The next was turning his peseants into property owners instead of serfs.
So what is Iran is selling weapons to anyone with cash. We do the same except we don't bother to charge. That makes us dumber than them if nothing else.
As I said this is an old feud and an open war between Shia and Sunni will keep them occupoed and out of our hair for a century at least.
