It can't. Norway has just 5 million people. The same as Chicago. It is either 1st or 2nd in per capita income from year to year as it is rich in natural resources, especially offshore oil. Norway's population is largely homogeneous, and has a long history of "same ness" in the population's support of its policies. Norway doesn't bear any responsibility for defense beyond its borders so its defense spending is low compared to GDP. They have only recently faced some immigration issues.

Norway can afford to provide these rich services in their social democracy. The US can't. Taxing billionaires more won't do it. And American citizens don't think enough alike to support polices like Norway's.

Nope, and I never posted that.

It is stupid to ignore parts of other countries government/laws/habits in the arrogant and ignorant assumption that the US can't learn from another country.

I never said we should BE Norway......

But , for instance, we could adopt a more enlightened view of education....an educated citizenry makes a stronger , healthier, more economically sound country.

Not in the least, all countries have stupid laws, I feel sorry for the people who have so much pride it blinds them to the fact their country has stupid laws...

I freely admit we have stupid laws, here's one (Idaho):

You may not fish on a camel’s back.

Geez, you sound just like the progressive liberals here in America, can never admit there is anything wrong/stupid with them or whatever they do...

In the Netherlands we have 'gedoogbeleid'. I guess the whole world is laughing out loud because of that. It means if something is a crime, but is defined as 'gedoogd' you can commit the crime, you are considered a criminal, but when you are busted you can say: this isn't alowed, but it's 'gedoogd'. And then you can't get punished for that crime.

Look in the mirror to see an ignorant Norwegian...
Tell me: Do you really believe that Norwegians are required by law to rape and plunder?

You can move to Norway, it's just harder to find work as an immigrant.

What I believe is moot, do I know all countries have stupid and idiotic laws on the books, yup

Stupid German law:

Every office must have a view of the sky, however small.

France?

No pig may be addressed as Napoleon by its owner.

Brazil?

It is illegal to commit suicide, but you can only be prosecuted if the victim files a lawsuit.

Indonesia?

It is illegal to masturbate.

South Africa?

A license is required to purchase a television set.

Norway is too cold.

Otherwise, I wouldn't mind living there.

From the tone of the OP, you would think Norway was a living hell. Sounds alright to me, but it's just too cold.

And the women dip snuff - ugh.

I find it very interesting and telling that you have no issue with this Norwegian law:

On long winter days, when the sun does not rise, women must make themselves available to satisfy their husbands sexual pleasures.
