Oh and $20 an hour for minimum wage still means you have to work which I'm sure 99% or the 99%ers want to actually do.
I don't think they do.

$20 a hour minimum wage is exorbitant.

Talk about killing jobs!

Yep. This a movement about murdering the wealthy, and then eventually, everyone. Great contribution, roy.

I do.

All communists are socialists, not all socialists are communists.

Then they will have to find someone else to blame their problems on.

There was no common demands. Saying that "they have demands" is stupid because every single one of them wanted something different...

Well, at last someone stated the truth, which if you did not know it, debunks all the wild statements made by some here. It seems that no matter how many times someone trys to tell people that this is not one group with a firm set of demands it still gets ignored, agendas, agendas and we wonder why his nation is in such a mess politically

Second of all, no one is asking for everyone to be taxed down to the same level. That's why I asked whether you understand how marginal tax rates work. Raising the taxes on the wealthy won't bring them down to the middle class, it just will make them less exorbitantly wealthy.

Making our society more equitable does not equal complete equality.
What kind of equality does this country offer everybody? There are two real kinds of equality and taking from the rich to give to the poor promotes one of them. There is equality of condition, which is what KUchief25 is talking about us working toward where everybody has the same amount of money as everybody else and then there is equal of opportunity which is what our Constitution guarantees all of us. In that last one the opportunities are all the same and in the first one, the one that progressives want, nobody can get above anybody else and taxation will make sure of that.

I suppose you never heard all of this in school. I never had a senior class go through my government classes that didn't get that from me. I wonder if there are any real progressives among those people I taught. I also wonder if they teach anything like that in public schools today.

You, my friend, are a commie.

You and your ilk would be delighted to have everyone equally miserable.
Don't waste your time telling me what I want, since you have no idea. I'm not a communist (lol, all communists are not socialists), and I have no interest in increasing misery or achieving perfect economic equality. Now you'll tell me that I am, with more nonsense added in. I'll let you get the last word, but trust me, you don't know me.

I've heard all of this before. I am not interested in promoting equality of outcome, I simply recognize that we do not have equality of opportunity. Social mobility is steadily decreasing, and the typical avenues of opportunity (education, in particular) are becoming prohibitively expensive, thus less accessible. Healthcare costs are rising, meaning if you're trying to get ahead and you get hurt, good luck getting back on track. Our society is stratifying, which means that ladder of opportunity is becoming harder and harder to climb.
