More jobs for Americans, on balance. We will pay less for what we use, and get more for what we produce. Caterpillar will ship more machines out of Peoria with these agreements in place, for one small example.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Congress approved free trade agreements Wednesday with South Korea, Colombia and Panama, ending a four-year drought in the forming of new trade partnerships ....
It's about time. Bush wanted that trade deal with Colombia for years. Colombia has been a very good partner in the war on drugs and it is appropriate that we have a free trade agreement with htem. They certainly are more a friend to us than China or Mexico.

In rapid succession, the House and Senate voted on the three trade pacts, which the administration says could boost exports by $13 billion and support tens of thousands of American jobs.

Oh yes .... and it only makes sense, given how well all of the other free trade agreements have worked out, huh?

Caterpillar doesn't need to shop more machines out of Peoria. It is building manufacturing plants overseas, closer to where the market demand exists.

Now if these 'free trade' agreements do not disadvantage the USA, as has been the history of other 'free trade' agreements, great. Forgive me if I am skeptical at best given the history of the USA crippling itself in these agreements.

Lefties? The Lefties could not have done anything the Righties did not support. You are one very confused Lady, the Righties want to be able to export as many jobs as they can so that Big Business can make more profit from slave labor aound the world, you do not even know who you are supporting.

uhm

actually its usually the LEFTIES that are pushing GLOBALISM...globalism is after all a part of socialism

Zbigniew Brzezinski advisor to carter, bush1,clinton, cheney and obama.....""This is a form of Socialism known as fascism, and it will be the type of world government the power elite plans ultimately to bring about and control. In this government, the power elite will control politicians who will become government leaders who will promulgate laws, rules and regulations favorable to certain transnational corporations"""........"In order to bring about a North American Union (NAU), the public first has to be conditioned to think of themselves as North Americans. ... "Zbigniew Brzezinski has been a CSIS counselor, and at Mikhail Gorbachev's first State of the World Forum in 1995, Brzezinski revealed:

"We cannot leap into world government through one quick step.... The precondition for eventual and genuine globalization is progressive regionalization because by that we move toward larger, more stable, more cooperative units."

"The aim of socialism is not only to abolish the present division of mankind into smaller states and all-national isolation, not only to bring the nations closer to each other, but also to merge them." ...lennin

"...in Brzezinski's BETWEEN TWO AGES (1970), he praised Marxism, and he claimed that "the nation-state is gradually yielding its sovereignty." One aspect of American sovereignty that is being yielded is ownership of American companies by Americans. In the first 9 months of 2007, 69 companies in New England alone have been sold to foreign buyers. Nationally, the French company Alcatel bought Lucent Technologies in the U.S. last year, and in September 2007 announced it will be cutting thousands of jobs. ..."

"A Marxist begins with his prime truth that all evils are caused by the exploitation of the proletariat by the capitalists. From this he logically proceeds to the revolution to end capitalism, then into the third stage of reorganization into a new social order of the dictatorship of the proletariat, and finally the last stage -- the political paradise of communism." Saul alinski

Zbigniew Brzezinski is an advocate of socialist world government, a goal he has promoted as a member of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and as a speaker at former Soviet Premier and Communist Mikhail Gorbachev’s first World Forum. Brzezinski is an architect of creating regions of global governance from independent nations to achieve world government. At the World Forum Brzezenski described the global regions that are now being put into place: Israel and the Palestinians (now MEFTA, Middle East Free Trade Association), Iran as part of a Central Asian region, and China as part of a Far Eastern region. As a member of CSIS Brzezinski has guided their efforts to publish the North American Integration Monitor (2002) that calls for the loss of US sovereignty to a North American Union (NAU) as one of the regional global government blocks.

The proposals for global taxes by Obama( backed by Biden) have come with the recommendations of Zbigniew Brzezinski to pay for globalization and world government. Obama has proposed a global poverty tax in a US Senate bill.

Zbigniew Brzezinski co-founded the Trilateral Commission (TC) with David Rockefeller in 1973 and was its first director. Brzezinski selected Jimmy Carter as a member while Carter was the governor of Georgia and before Carter became US President. TC is the primary organization managing the goals of globalization to achieve world government via manipulations of economies, politics and religions of nations around the world including the US.

According to Dr. Dennis Cuddy, Brzezinski, as TC director, advocated, in a 1973 memo, establishing means for social control over the world populations by deliberate “economic and political destabilization” so that later the debt leash could be used to “strangle a rebellious nation into submission (to global governance).”

The liberal socialist plan is not limited just to money and capital; it includes controlling populations, and nations by controlling their jobs, their immigration, their food, their water, their energy, their politicians and governments, and their religions.

I hate to burst your bubble (no I don't) but you are a day late and a dollar short, the world economy is ALREADY connected and in reality ONE large economy. There is No going back, so learn to live within it. You can help our Nation, Buy American products and help American companies manufacturing their products here stay in business. FYI the big companies off-shoring American jobs do Not care what you or I think about it, money is their GOD.
