I mean think about it. The economy is not going to vastly improve no matter who is in office. What we are going through is a massive correction brought on by years of borrowing and living off artificial income. It will take at least another 4 years to finish the correction. It would be far better for the GOP if they can blame the whole financial problem at the feet of the Democratic party and specifically at Obama's feet.

And when the economy is starting to turn around, vote in a Republican Congress and President to reap the rewards for something they had no part in doing.

Maybe this is why they are fielding such poor presidential candidates.

That's why I "don't give a damn". One man will not change what has to happen.
The more you try to interfere with the natural course of events, the worse the outcome will be.

We all know about the Great Depression yet few know about a steeper one that occurred before that and was over before you know it.

Why ? In one case government intervened thinking they could end it. In the other, government let it run its course.

This little recession we had (the government declared it over in 2009 remember).
Are we back to where we were ? The more government intervenes to save us the worse we end up when their "program of the month" is over.

So which path do you think we're following ? Can one man save us ?
No I don't think so.

Hoover couldn't stop the Great Depression and FDR couldn't end the Great Depression.
Each side promising the world and how they could save us if you voted for them.

I think the GOP is in a lot of trouble. Ron Paul won the "values voters" straw poll. Although he is anti-abortion and the straw polls have their own criticism, I think it shows that many people are done with the anti-gay, anti-(name your social evil here) politician that the GOP has been using to win elections for years. People want real problems addressed, like the size of government, the debt and the economy.

The economy is failing because the Obama administration and democrats has a chokehold on it. If you remove the chokehold the economy will start to grow again and fairly quickly since most businesses are holding back waiting for the attempt to overthrow our government and a move to socialism subsides.

One thing you can count on ... if there is an election next year Obama will be unemployed and under criminal investigation.

People are forgetting about the debt. There is personal debt, corporate debt and sovereign debt as well as local government debt.

We are wallowing in DEBT and cannot pay it off. We cannot move forward until this is dealt with.

Sarah Palin says the office of President is just a "title", so maybe they shouldn't bother trying. And they're so anti-government... Why would any of them want to have such a powerful role in government? Wouldn't they be better off selling books and giving speeches?

Please enlighten us with this "chokehold". Please name one thing that Obama has done during his term in office that is keeping the economy from growing?

No, that's backwards. We can't pay down the debt because we have lost income. You need income first and then pay down the debt.

The conservatives are obviously taking back the white house and congress next election. Look at the landslide in 2010. The anger in mainstream America is increasing, especially with the lame progressive liberal protests that will probably end in violence and deaths. The liberals have written their own death certificate come 2012.

You have got to be joking ...

Here is a better question ... name one thing Obama has done to grow the economy?
