The problem with tobacco for this government is that tobacco really doesn't have the same effect on peoples' drive and ambition. People could always want and hold down a job whilusing tobacco.

Replacing tobacco with the more-mind altering drugs seems to be the goal. Ban tobacco and you get more meth addicts, potheads staring off into space, so on. The same liberals who want every kind of drug made legal want tobacco made unlegal, so what's the problem with tobacco for them?

Those lazy Indians never WERE able to develop a work ethic.

Christians have always been a materialist bunch.

malamute, i'm going to ignore your ignorant post about pot heads lacking drive and focus on asking you since when other peoples level of ambition, became any of your ******* business?

let me get this straight, govt must stay out of everyone's lives, unless they're doing things YOU don't like?

A little more pot, meth, heroin, cocaine, pcp and everyone will feel much happier.
Please, just stop. You are blaming a bad economy on pot?! Wow.

The bad economy is due to society building beyond their means for the last few decades, the same as the 1920s. A deregulated economy, and a debt bubble out of control. It has nothing to do with stoners. But what a stupid attempt of linking something.

Your argument is just basically childish at the least. Drugs are always going to be a part of society. I don't want meth, heroin, pcp, etc in society either, and now that I have a son, I actually get scared of knowing he will grow up having to face this. If you are so naive that you think the government telling people they can't smoke a plant is keeping them from doing so, then all I can say again is, "WOW!"

Also, people who work everyday go out to bars after work and do their happy hour thing. I would hate to break it to you, but the same is also with people who go home after a long day, relax, and have a smoky poo. This is lawyers, engineers, doctors, and the list goes on. Not just fast food kids. If you don't believe me, then again, you are a very very naive person. Having substances illegal doesn't prevent usage among society, and a person using a substance doesn't make them all of a sudden into your childish Nancy Regan stereotype of a burned out lazy hippie.

Ahh another one who believes in that stereotype about pot smokers. Yeah there are some lazy ones, but those people are lazy by nature ANYWAY. Nevermind the majority who work full time, have families and are constructive members of society. Furthermore, how can you even compare the effects of pot vs meth! 2 totally different substances! One is extremely addictive, dangerous to consume as well as make, the other is a plant where the effects are generally benign. No withdrawl, no hangover.... A pot smoker is NOT going to rob a convenience store to get his fix. A meth addict on the other hand does have that potential!

I have a UMC engineering job, raise two children, and am the top performing employee in my market. I work and monitor performance of over 1000 cell sites, and trouble shoot them remotely without even seeing them through the use of alarms.

I graduated with my Bachelors degree with a 4.0 GPA.

And I have no drive, and I'm lazy because I smoke marijuana?

You don't know anything about the reality of marijuana.

Not only would the legalization of marijuana lessen the amount of patients on dangerous addictive legal drugs, it would open up an extremely profitable industry where entrepreneural possibilities are endless. The positive effect this would have on our declining economy would be infinite. It would also put an end to the catastrophic Mexican drug wars, decrease the prison population which is booming because of the war on drugs and costing taxpayers Billions, lessen street violence in our own cities and allow for police to focus their time on actual problems.
There is no excuse anymore.

But yep, us "stoners" are just a bunch of filthy, lazy, junk food eatin' MFers! Pretty cool success story their Memphis. I work in a sales position on and deal with customers nationally as well as internationally and I am planning on revamping my small DJ company. I was going to officially retire as a DJ, but I did a wedding over the weekend and it inspired me to continue. OK so it's not quite the success story that you have, but the point is, that there are a lot more of us who toke up, and still work hard, have drive, and can still be productive members of society.
