What excremental income? According to the OP joining the union would almost triple their pay so that would have to be a lot of excremental income

To become a member, you must sign with your own blood.

You can't mix the races.

You can't be a janitor and a lawyer at the same time.

It would violate the Rule of Hierarchy.

Hire Archy, that is!

Sometimes confused with Higher Archy.

And, sometimes, pot can get you even Higher than the Archy.

i worked as a student web developer in college, making minimum wage. was it fair? hah. no. I was surrounded by lazy , incompetent bureaucrats in some Dean's office, who were getting paid $50k, $100k /year to delegate work to me. I used that job, as well as the all the other crap jobs I worked in my youth, as motivation to learn skills that are useful in a career.

Oh, and use this as a learning experience, that unions are the devil's work.
Yes, idle hands are the devil's workshop.

Just try tellin' that to yoga freaks, though!

The union members' credo: I don't gotta do nuthin', and I get paid lots.

I would start a protest movement called Occupy Janitorial Services and demand that janitors pay for the students education since they are the ones with all of the money.

Normally I'm no fan of unions, but if joining the union to triple my wage and get a fringe benefit package greater than my current wage, union dues would be worthwhile.

But note that students were prohibited from working on campus full time - that wasn't even an option for students. That's why I had a second job delivering pizzas on weekends.
