Hillary Clinton arrives in Libya for an American victory lap - CSMonitor.com

Good for her. We certainly don't need it here. As a tax payer, I am proud to be working so an unstable country, which will probably evolve into another dictatorship, can get aid.

Another fine example of American imperliasm and why we are broke.

Billary can't be gone from the political landscape soon enough for my liking.

It never ends. I wonder how many millions it's going to cost supporting the 100 special forces soldiers going into Africa to help oust a rebel leader. These political hacks like Clinton have no loyalty to the US people. They could give two ****s about the people and the well being of this country. It's sickening. But American voters just keep electing these ass clowns into office.

We will do anything, including mass murder, to prevent any counrtry from trading oil in anything but dollars. Hell, we will do the same to prevent any country from taxing US corporations (Hondouras et al). Hillary is really taking the moral high ground on these. The sooner she and her husband retire to somewhere else (the island of St Helena, maybe) the better off we will be.

What's a few million dollars? The cost of a couple of smart bombs used to play whack-a-mole in the Afghani desert.

American soft power has been pushed aside in favor of wasting "hard power" resources and lives. A criticism of the US from the Middle East has been that we do not support democratic movements, in favor of "stabilizing dictators" who are friendly to our interests. It's worth a shot to try other approaches.

We are broke but that has never stopped the warmongers and the bankers that lend them money. These wars are the money pits that are swallowing our economy. They are also a substantial part of our industrial economy. That is one of the reasons we cannot stop. The other is the magic combination of military glory and pure greed.

One, Hillary Clinton announced a small increase in aid. They were already getting assistance, they will get a little extra as they try to craft a government.

Two, Hillary Clinton doesn't make the decisions about how much aid a country gets, she's the messenger, but the decisions about foreign aid are ultimately determined by Congress.

Three, this was a diplomatic visit. Maybe because we need friends around the world. Maybe because we want the sweet crude that Libya produces. Maybe because that Arab Spring wasn't something that occurred in a petri dish.
