I had an early warning sign of the direction our country was going before I retired...while I was still teaching.

One of my students made a simply outrageous statement with which a couple of other students were in complete agreement. When I attempted to disuade her from mistaken belief, she said...in all sincerity...."Well, I saw it on Jerry Springer so it MUST be true." The other students in agreement with her immediately chimed in "Yeah, it was on Jerry Springer. Didn't you see it? See, it IS true."

I knew at that moment that we were doomed.

I'd like to see a required IQ test for every candidate, with every current politician fired, and every candidate ineligible for even running, if they can't at least score over 110. Of course, if we did that, there would only be about 3 politicians left in Washington.

Which is actually a pretty good idea--so long as they cut the size of what Washington does in exact proportion to what they can oversee personally.
I give IQ tests. Gingrich is the smartest.

Well I got escorted by the police out of a dinner and speech by her in Minneapolis. They wouldn't even let me get a look at her, and I didn't get any peanuts either!

Mitt Romney and Obama were Harvard Law grads. Obama was on the review which meant he had to be in the top 5 or 10% of his class. It also means both of them probably scored over 170 on the LSAT. You don't get into harvard law being under a 110 IQ. And you don't graduate in the top 5% being under a 130.

[quote=KickAssArmyChick;21342492]I do like Ron Paul but I have to disagree with the IQ comment... Having a high IQ doesn't necessary prove you are smart. I know people who are extremely bright in certain areas but don't know how to even spell. I know a couple people who have IQs in the upper 140s and they are not all that smart.

We had had plenty of smart people in power but they all have their own agenda. We need someone who will stand up and act like a leader and put the interest of the American people first...who will actually do what he/she was hired to do. That requires more than intelligence.

Great idea but Reagan's dead.
