Obama seeks to respond to this question with an executive order in the next part of his "We Can't Wait" unilateral stimulus effort. While the president's heart may be in the right place, his effort isn't like to have much impact.

Of course, you choose to spin it negatively. I look at it as Obama's executive order saves grads $120 a year. Over the 20 year loan, that's $2,400.

Sounds like a good thing.

It doesn't save anything, only passes the costs onto the taxpayer.

Considering that having the government run the student loan program directly (which the GOP opposed) saved the country $50 billion, we now can afford to pass on some of the savings to the students.

How did it save the country $50 billion? And again, there are no savings. There is no such thing as a free-lunch.

Default It appears thanks to Obama college will now be free

So go to school get your degree and don't get a job and bingo you don't have to pay your loan back. Sit around and protest in the park and live off the government thinking your smarter than everybody else because you have your piece of paper and look down at those who are working for a living. Liberal utopia one step closer to reallity.

"According to Duncan, the Know Before You Owe plan will cap monthly student loan payments at 10 to 15 percent of the graduate’s income. "

As well it should be.

At least, lower-tier colleges anyways.

Well now, really? Who pays for the teachers, campus, grounds keeping, all the other staff?
Tell us about how you need no money to live off of and are paid nothing all day long, (unless you are a taker who already is on the dole, how can we know?)

Obama is insane. I think the man has truly entered insane territory. Trying to forgive a 1 trillion dollar debt by Americans who gave their word to pay in exchange for a low interest rate loan with no way to pay back the taxpayers would be grounds IMO for IMPEACHMENT and jail, not for reelection.
