Not scared in the least. The closest thing I've heard of Sharia law in the US is the bible belt. I have no intention of going to the bible belt in the next 50-60 years.
Agreed. Too bad I kind of live near that bible belt..
American lawyer and legal scholar. He currently serves as the Legal Adviser of the Department of State. He was nominated to his current position by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2009, and confirmed by the Senate on June 25, 2009.
A New York lawyer, Steven Stein, says that, in addressing the Yale Club of Greenwich in 2007, Koh claimed that “in an appropriate case, he didn't see any reason why sharia law would not be applied to govern a case in the United States.”
Stein is correct. The problem is the ignorant Chicken Littles that don't understand how it is applied in certain cases - namely contracts and divorces with international custody battles.
Geez guys don't you think that there might be some...ahem....."grassroots" armed opposition to such a thing? Come on now....
Yeah and the grassroots folks will be shouted down as islamaphobes and the like by the multicultural brainwashed just as happened in countries in Europe. Now they are reaping the benefits of multiculturalism. LOL.

I'm an Islamophobe. I detest Islam.
I also detest right wing scaremongering that mispresents the law and the nature of how foreign law is used in our courts.
What city in the U.S. will be the first where a judge will allow sharia law to be introduced into the procedings? Will the procedings be appealed as being in violation of state law?
What state will be the first to amend their penal laws and criminal procdure laws to allow sharia?
I'll bet that state you mention won't be Oklahoma.

It's nothing to worry about.
Every conceivable threat to our fast-eroding personal liberty is something to worry about, my friend. No worry = no future freedom....it is merely a question of how long 'til it's all gone.
If we've learned anything from human history, it is that.
