You forget Obama just finished arming Al-Qaeda rebels in Libya. Obama is batting for the other team, not the USA. So, in his mind, anyting which degrades the US military is a victory.

It's stunning, isn't it?

No wonder they liked Kerry with all the flip flopping they do.

Iraqi leaders have adamantly refused to give U.S. troops immunity from prosecution in Iraqi courts, and the Americans have refused to stay without it. Iraq's leadership has been split on whether it wanted American forces to stay. Some argued the further training and U.S. help was vital, particularly to protect Iraq's airspace and gather security intelligence. But others have deeply opposed any American troop presence, including Shiite militiamen who have threatened attacks on any American forces who remain.

The issue of legal protection for the Americans was the deal-breaker.

Iraqis are still angry over incidents such as the Abu Ghraib prison scandal or Haditha, when U.S. troops killed Iraqi civilians in Anbar province, and want American troops subject to Iraqi law.

Now, tell us again OP...why is the troop leaving Iraq issue controversial? Maybe you should go to Iraq and offer your services as a private contractor soldier.

Considering that Obama was in charge for the last 3 of those 8 years...it's good to see you're starting to recognize that they are pretty much one and the same with regard to foreign policy.

You need look no further than Kent State for the answer to that one!

Yep; some on here would fire on anything, moving or stationary as long as it wasn't capable of firing back!

America needs to get back to its roots.

We need to go back to Viet Nam and finish the job.

None of the problems in the ME would exist today if America would just learn to finish what it starts.

My son fought over there. The brave men and women who fought over there can't wait to get the hell out.
Ditto.

Why not ER?

The "problems" in the middle east for the US started when we pegged the dollar to gold and got the saudi's to trade oil in only US dollars and in exchange we became their "protection".
