your concern for the gay community is touching. How have you supported the Libya gays in the past? Being gay has always been a crime in Libya.

If you haven't noticed, liberal concerns about theocracies are based upon the secular nature of OUR country. I see no reason to deride the democratic decisions of other of countries just as I see no reason for other countries to deride our system of government.

Funny, I always thought that was one of those conservative principles, minding one's own business.

If their decisions didn't affect us then I could agree with that. All of these civil wars will most certainly affect us and to what degree depends on what resources they have and how they deal with secular countries like our own. If they don't care about dealing with countries like our own because green is all that matters then I could care less.

I guess I'm a neoconservative except that I was, and never have been, a liberal, to my knowledge.

Yeah we should bomb the hell out of them - but immediately afterwards we need to mind our own business.

They were pre-emptive strikes which were meant to put an end to the ordeal before the country imploded in civil war. And given the joyful scenes which were coming out of Tripoli following the news of Gaddafi's death, I think you're sitting on the wrong side of the fence on this one.
Libyan cities were bombed, civilians were killed....

Sirte:

Good thing this was 'good barbarism'.

Are you trying to tell me that Egypt will end up with a democratic government with the Muslim Brotherhood in charge? I doubt it and none of those other ME countries will end up that way either. Elections don't always point to democratic government.

It may be corrupt democratic government, as in these cases, but it still is democratic.
