I've had a miscarriage.
I don't need a month's dedicated "cause" to remind me.
Good for you. I happen to have a close friend who lost her daughter three weeks before the baby's due date who finds great comfort in the fact that her child is acknowledged.
October is also Loss Month for women who have lost children and had stillborn babies. Got a problem with that one too?
Another one of these obtuse "xxx months"...
Next month is Recognizing divorced men month, don't care about that one either just like I don't care about the OP's recognizing nature's freaks month...

Are we playing "compare the miscarriages" now?
That's klassy.
And if she needs a dedicated month to feel comforted, she has greater problems than her unfortunate loss.
Actually since February is black pride month or whatever the hell they call it now. October is White Pride month since Leif Ericson discovered N.A. in October
In 1964 the United States Congress authorized and requested the president to proclaim October 9 of each year as "Leif Erikson Day". That date was chosen for its connection to the first organized immigration from Norway to the United States (the ship Restauration, coming from Stavanger, Norway, arrived in New York Harbor on October 9, 1825), not for any event in the life of the explorer. The day is also an official observance of several U.S. states.
See he even has a day to himself that is recognized.

Lol...you sound like me. I don't recognize any of this crap either. Can only imagine what stupid crap I am going to have to take my daughter out of during "black history month" come February.
How blacks were treated and everything else that went with it......no it's not the same. Dont try and pretend like it is. People who have sex with their own sex still have the same human rights any other human has. They still have rights any individual has as an individual. They are not beaten and treated like sub-humans as blacks were by a large portion of society.
To even try to compare the two is beyond pathetic.
Like I said before, in principle. If I said it is the exact same, please show me.
This "1,000" is always such a convenient soundbite.
Please provide a link which lists all of these which gay people do not have but straight people do.
I didn't even know I had that many rights to anything as a straight person, American citizen, human being, etc.
I can't wait to see this list.
This is from 2003 and it is broken down by category:

No, not at all. I am simply stating that just because you don't need the acknowledgement means nothing for those who do.
As for your second statement? The epitome of klass. Shameful.
