Im liking Ron more and more

Imagine Rommel (Romney) saying this??? Nahh

Vigilant, observant, law-abiding, gun-owning citizens defend themselves and stop crimes every day before police can respond. That is the source of real security in America: The 2nd Amendment right to defend oneself. The answer is for people to be empowered to protect themselves. Yet how many weapons might these checkpoints confiscate? Even when individual go through all the legal hoops of licensing and permits, the chances of harassment or outright confiscation of weapons and detention of citizens when those weapons are found at a TSA checkpoint is extremely high.
Disarming the highways and filling them full of jack-booted thugs demanding to see our papers is no way to make them safer. Instead, it is a great way to expand government surveillance powers and tighten the noose around our liberties.

The big question is, when will people realize that gun laws affect LEGAL gun owners. Most of what happens are because if illegal gun owners, and all the laws in the world aren't going to affect them.

What will happen, is it will make legitimate gun ownership more difficult, and leave more people unprotected for the criminals.

TSA doing checkpoints on Tennessee roadways? That raised my eyebrows. A second w/ google reveals that these checkpoints are at truck weigh stations.

I wish liberals would open their eyes and start to realize that. Gang members that have been busted before, will break the law again especially since, pretty much, all gangs have a stipulation that once you're in, you're in for the rest of your life which means you must be willing to break the law again, or die. Most firearms murders in the U.S. are gang-related and these people will find other avenues to obtain firearms. Hell, in a country like the UK which tightly regulates firearms (and owning a firearm for defense is NOT a valid, legal reason) still has significant numbers of murder by firearm, and it's increasing.

Gun laws are like the TSA. They are meant for security theater, but serve a darker, more sinister purpose

Liberals? I can assure you, based on the posts on the many threads here discussing gun ownership, that there are many Liberals here that probably own more guns than many of the Conservatives here. What is always interesting is that EVERY Election time the right makes the claim that the Left is out to take our guns away and yet it never happens and no Bills are even being submitted to attempt to do so. I also notice that when such fear mongering accusations are made gun and ammo sales go up and those industries profit. So next time you hear such claims, double check the facts and realize where the claims originate and who profits from them.

I thought you righties believed in states rights, oh I forgot, only when YOU agree with them. They are not going to take away your right to gun ownership, PERIOD.

Who comes up with all the rediculous laws on guns???

This would probably be "reasonable" to the average gun grabbing anti freedom liberal...

I would like to see a Concealed Carry License recognized in any State be legal in ALL states and cities. My NH Driver's License is recognized anywhere in the country so why is my Concealed Carry license (if I had one) not?

So you support the idea of states rights even when in direct conflict with the Constitution
