do you want to be second guessed on your decisions? women are not stupid we know what abortion is. viewing an ultra sound is a ploy to try to make women feel guilty about their choice. it is also an extra cost and unnecessary. you in favor of added health care cost for a test that is completely unnecessary?
Why would you feel guilty?
You have to have an exam before having an abortion, you can't just have it done without that....
there is no other procedure "similar" before an abortion clinic do talk to the women about their choice and make sure it is something they want to do. most women don't have abortions without a great deal of thought.
Well as most abortions are for convenience sake,it would appear not a lot of thought went into HOW you get pregnant....
Your responses on this thread reflect the arrogant and paternalistic notion that you men know what it's like to carry an unwanted pregnancy.
When you've had your sex change and it's YOU lying there on the table and having an equally unwanted ultrasound forced on you "for your own good," you go ahead then and tell me what I should think and feel about what is the most personal and agonizing decision most women in this situation will ever have to make.
Until then, butt out. Or agree to adopt the child you forced on the woman when it's born.
As soon as the laws are changed and the man cannot be held legally responsible for the baby, okay.
But women want it both ways, their decision to make, and a man's job to financially support the baby if they decide.
Making the decision to terminate a pregnancy is an incredibly personal and difficult decision. The only purpose of trying to make women see the ultrasound and hear the heartbeat is to attempt to intimidate and coerce and to make an already difficult event even more so.
It's not necessary and I'm glad the judges are ruling that way.
Why would seeing the ultrasound and hearing the heartbeat intimidate and coerce a woman?
No! Because forcing them to look at a picture or hear the heartbeat is an attempt to make an already difficult situation even more so. Just another right wing, christian attempt at controlling a woman's body.
How would it make it more difficult?
Women aren't making this decision lightly and without a great deal of thought and deliberation, they know what is going to happen.
We have already seen pictures of fetuses......EVERYWHERE.....on TV, in magazines, posters on the Dr's office walls, in brochures, in biology books in school, on the internet.
Do you really think women don't know what a fetus looks like?
So...there is no harm in seeing the ultrasound of their baby or hearing the heartbeat.
Why would this be uncomfortable to the woman in question?
