Where are the anti-OWS members that continually say that this ex-marine war veteran should go back to living in his parents basement?

Chime in now!!!!!!!

better that the cops were getting pelted with objects instead of FMJ's.

Did the Wall Street and Corporate and Banking Crooks get permits to bring our country down?

Wonder if the marines on that thread heard or care about the protestors vandalizing this war memorial in Oregon?

Marines around the world are outraged by the injuries inflicted by police on Scott Olsen at Tuesday's Occupy Oakland protests. Olsen is in a medically-induced coma after getting hit in the head by a police projectile.

If you do not want to risk injury, do not go into a combat zone. I guess a smart marine should have known that. My father, brother and two uncles are marines. I don't see them at the OWS protests. My son is a pre-med who plans to join the Marines when admitted to med school. He has not participated in OWS protests. I have many patients at the VA who are marines- they are not supporters of the OWS protests.

Sometimes someone, despite their past activities or affiliations, can make bad choices. This guy, despite being a marine, made a dumb choice. I hope he recovers and learns from the experience.

Getting shot in the face with a tear gas canister during a peaceful protest... He sure did learn a lot that day... How this country really works...

Try imposing martial law now... Looks like the military is now siding with the protesters...

99.9% of the time I stand with the vet. I need no excuses to do so. I am a vet and stand with my own.
In this case my brother vet was seriously injured. A short video that really doesn't show how it happened is being used to demonize the police. They may very well be in the wrong. Based on this video I can't make that judgment. We don't see what led up to the confrontation and escalation.
Someone questioned why the police showed up in riot gear. Well if a riot breaks out its a little late to suit up.
A few years ago while in Thailand they were having similar protests. The red shirts v.s the gov. In a video it was shown that a res shirt protester was shot. The allegation was that the soldiers shot him. The reality was that a fellow red shirt shot him. The redshirt film attempting to mislead was released first and the world went crazy. Fortunately an alternate camera captured the incident.
I am not saying that the protesters injured this vet. I am saying we are only seeing 1 angle and 1 side of the dispute.
I don't fault my younger brother for being there, for being involved. He served his country and fought for all of us to have the right to protest, to demonstrate.
To demonstrate within the boundaries of the law. If the police tell you disperse then disperse. If they are wrong for it let the lawyers fight it out. Thats our system.
I never cease to be amazed when those who typically vilify the military suddenly become outraged when a vet is injured. These same folks who want the protesters to challenge the police and the law will normally be the first to sue the second they feel wronged in any way.
