1 in 5 is not 8.5%. I am part of the 19.3%. I don't know where you get your numbers from. You probably looked for people with a citizenship. In that case African-Americans and Asians do not contribute to the diverseness of your country because most of them are American. I am going to keep that in mind next time you claim that the USA is diverse. Or maybe you look up the definition of diverseness. It has nothing to do with citizenship.

He has German friends and that means that he knows exactly how Germans feel because his friend's opinions are a 100% representation of what other Germans think. Typical internet tough guy.

Hey everyone, look at me! look how good i am [/quote There's nothing particularly glamorous about attending academic conferences as a doctoral student. I have to travel coach, stay at some of the cheapest hotels, and my per diem is rather low. While I grew up over in Europe, it's certainly not something I brag about. Quite the opposite in fact, as I love this country and what it stands for much more than I ever did Europe. I'm looking forward to living in Germany for the next few years, but I would never ever ever want to be a citizen there. Then again, I grew up under Eastern European socialism on the farm so I didn't get to have the same hostel crashing, latte sipping, club hopping, "finding myself" experience that some here claim to have.

It's a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there (again).

91.5% of the population of Germany is German.
2.4% Turkish.
6.1% others-made up largely of Greek, Italian, Polish, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Spanish.

If you say so. It's not like I was swigging some espresso in a Paris cafe and telling everyone on CD about it as if I'm someone special just because I bought a $700 plane ticket to jump the pond. This was in a dump called Los Angeles following the workshop.

What exactly is it we did the last time we were pissed? Oh, yeah, right, I almost forgot. We brought down the Berlin Wall and that helped to end the cold war. That what you're talking about? What's not to like about that?

Yep, you're right. Those 8.5% are those who hold a foreign citizenship. But it doesn't mean that all the remaining 91.5% are ethnic Germans, because Germany does not have any racial statistics (for obvious reasons). The percentage of people with a foreign citizenship is actually not much higher in the US.

Yeah, it is. How diverse is Africa? Asia? etc ? 0. Because 90% of the world is poor.

And yes, "German" means German citizenship, as someone noted above. The Germans of Turkish decent population totals 5% if I remember correctly.

LoL. Well, it didn't start in Germany, though.

Edit:

Who moved this now to the politics section?

I know, but it unified our country, which is a good thing. I don't know why people always play the Nazi card. I do not play the "Americans killed Native Americans" card or the "We just start a war in random countres" card either.

Hey there... actually, I am German and I am not pissed right now...

The Euro-Zone bail out was necessary and it is was the only way out of this situation... even Greece only represents a small amount of EU BIP, a collapse could affect every EU citizen, with Portugal, Spain, Ireland and Italiy collapsing right away like on "domino day"...

Today, we found some more billions somewhere in Mrs. Merkels office :

Bad bank finds €56 bln after checking sums - The Local

This makes us happy for now, but don't tread on us!

Essentialy, private sector banks were foreced to write off 50% of Greece's government bonds, so at least they part to pay as well.

I am "German" even though I am an immigrant. I wasn't born in Germany and don't have any "German" blood in me. I am one of the 20% with immigrant background. We all contribute to the diverseness of the population. You are seriously misinformed.
