You didn't think your terrible plan all the way through.
Put them in other places. Other departments etc. Places they are actually NEEDED.

OK, a fireman may save a family. IRS agents are paid by taxpayers to take money from them.

Government does not need to be any bigger than what is basically necessary.

The NEA, the EPA.

All a waste of money and a drag on our economy.

Some folks here seem to think that taxpayer funded Federal jobs stimulate economic activity worthy of preservation.

AmTrak employs 19,000 people. The taxpayers are on the hook. AmTrak has lost money since it's inception.

Justify it.
The EPA is useless? Have you ever been to China where the middle class drinks arsenic laced water and breathe air with so much pollution that their lungs are turning black and cancer rates are skyrocketing? While Amtrak and NEA can be reformed, why are you purposefully ignoring the sector with the greatest explosion in size in the past decade, the defense and intelligence services complex that has nearly TRIPLED in size? Come to DC and see all the bloat and corruption in this sector for yourself.

You don't recieve COBRA health insurance. You pay for it out of pocket. COBRA allows you to keep the same plan you had while employed, but you have to pony up $1,200 a month per couple.

Unemployment insurance is paid into by employers. If it is mismanaged by the Federal and State governments, then that proves my point.

Governmental mismanagement hurts the little guy in the end.

Talk radio and Fox News told them the EPA is bad and not needed so that is the only "information" they need to hear. Never mind the fact that without the EPA birth defects would skyrocket, most people would be less healthy and less productive, and the strain on our weak health care system would be enormous.

Much more likely a defense contractor. Personally, I think those over priced items in the defense budget are how they hide funds going to places that Congress wouldn't approve of.

Does that mean we get to hire another 2.85M to meet the OPs requirements?

Do you have ANY facts or figures to back that up or is it just an assumption?

Government is FAT, and it needs to be trimmed. Not with a scalpal, but with an axe.

You my friend are an idiot. I suppose you never served a day of your life in the military. You do realize that the federal government is one of the largest employers of Doctors, nurses, and other professionals right?

People whine and complain about the size of the federal work force, but real people are dependent on the jobs that federal workers fill in for. You know things like Veteran's health care, benefits, and education. Social security benefits, and a host of other things. So stop whining and get a real job.

And I am sorry but private contractors is pretty penny.
