Let's not pretend that welfare is insignificant. It's 13% of the budget, which is about half of the entire defense budget. 2011's welfare budget is a $500 billion. To be fair, that includes unemployment benefits, but it's still a very significant number.
Someone making $50,000 having a $6,500 annual expense would be a significant burden, right?
If you are referring to unemployment benefits would that be the person collecting $6,500 and living on roughly $542 a month?? You do know that unemployment benefits have an expiration date. The same person who PAID into the system when he was working? The same benefit that you would be entitled to collect in the event you lost your job, assuming you have one.

Put me in charge . . .
Put me in charge of food stamps. I'd get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho's, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.
Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I'd do is to get women Norplant birth control implants or tubal ligations. Then, we'll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine and document all tattoos and piercings. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, smoke or get tats and piercings, then get a job.
Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks?
You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your "home" will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.
In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a "government" job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the “common good..”
Before you write that I've violated someone's rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules.. Before you say that this would be "demeaning" and ruin their "self esteem," consider that it wasn't that long ago that taking someone else's money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.
If we are expected to pay for other people's mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.
AND While you are on Gov’t subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Gov’t welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job.
Now, if you have the guts - PASS IT ON...
Love it!!! What an amazing young lady - we need more youth like her. Thank you for passing this on!

She is growing into a fine example of a RWB, no new thinking there just repeating the crap she has obviously been fed all her life by the far right-wing cult. Deprogramming is in order and hopefully Karma will give it to her soon.
How can you possibly dispute anything she said!! Truth hurts - but you can't deny it. She is 100% correct and all the leftie loonies know it.
Just look at the loonie ows people crying they can't hand out food the the 'freeloaders'.
More white trash folklore chain emails where the poor turn out to be our big "enemy".
Not corporate greed, not the ever increasing gap between rich and poor......the big huge enemy is........ the minority welfare mother....LOL
How brainwashed must you be to believe the crap?
What IQ must you have to be able to pull up a Federal Budget chart and look how tiny aid to the poor really is compared to defense, interest on the debt, social security, medicare, etc.
What IQ must you have to dispute anything she said! All TRUE.
No one is saying poor is an enemy and you know that. Nice try at deflection.
21 year old from Texas........Am I expected to take this seriously? And as usual, her remedies were asinine. How did I guess that before I read it......
Actually she was spot on!
Nice to see youth like her out there - I wish I could see more.

Absolutely absurd. I'm a HUGE fan of cleaning up the waste and abuse in the system, however forcing people to live in those conditions (ie. inventorying personal belongings) would be a HUGE abuse of the rights of an american citizen...this is WAY overboard.
