So what if he was the founder? He served he earned the right to be critical of the branch he served. Some of my best friends from the military are very critical and bash their time served as wasted. They earned that right.
I am critical of UN missions. I did my share I earned that right.
This individual was involved in an altercation between the protesters and law enforcment. The only thing that is relative to this discussion is was he with a group throwing objects at the police. Was it an accident that he was hit or did the cop try to hurt him. I am betting that it was an accident and enough protesters have admitted that they initiated the violence.

I myself dont agree with every minute every order I ever had imposed upon me. Most especially US forces placed under foreign command of the UN.

Yes, he is still a person. If he were a smart person he would have moved away from an unruly mob who were stupid enough to throw rocks, cans and bottles at police officers, of all people.
If you want to be part of revolution you have to be prepared to take some lumps when you decide to take it up a few notches by introducing violent acts.
