NEW YORK — A man taking an exercise class at a New York gym last week claims he was the victim of “spin rage” after another gym patron allegedly attacked him, WCBSTV.com reports.

Stuart Sugarman claims Christopher Carter of Manhattan threw him and the stationary bike he was on against a wall during a spinning last Wednesday.

"If I was a lighter guy, I could have been killed over something like this," said Sugarman, whose doctor said he suffered a concussion and had surgery on his neck.

What, exactly, does his skin color have to do with anything? Was this a racial incident? Lighter than whom, do you suppose he meant?.....

God you got love these guys. I worked-out in gyms for 15 years and I didn't see and incident like this one. But I've seen some pretty contentious moments. Theres always some type A dope that feels that they come first and/or they own the place. And if you get in their way, they get in your face. Actually I not surprised that this happened in NY. I'm assuming it happened in New York City itself. NYC gyms have such high volume and only so many classes that is hard to get into a class sometime. I know of a couple of gyms I went to that you had do sign a sheet to get a bike for a Spin or a bag for Boxing class because equipment is limited. And if you weren't at the door when the class started and you missed your name being called to bad for you. Sometimes this sheet signing also true for other equipment such as treadmills or ellipticals machines. Also sometimes people only want certain instructors because they like how "hard" they push them. And a lot of people can get *****y when they can't get into their classes.
To be honest I can't stand it. And that one of the reasons I stopped working-out at gyms and either just workout at home or just do my martial arts classes at a martial art academy.
