It isn't the government's job to create jobs.

It is their responsibility to streamline and reduce the strangling regulations and taxes that are keeping jobs from being created. The Republicans in the Senate and House have introduced a number of bills to do just that, but Harry Reid won't let them even come to the floor of the Senate for a vote.

I have a very good article on this very topic at work that I'll be happy to post once I get there.

Yet another fail. You lefties need to go to google school.
Is this what you were looking for?

Senate Republicans, joined by three conservative members of the Democratic caucus, blocked a floor debate on a key portion of President Obama’s jobs bill, which would have provided states $35 billion to hire or retain teachers and emergency responders.
The final tally on the late Thursday vote was 50-50, with Sens. Mark Pryor (D-AR), Joe Lieberman (I-CT), and Ben Nelson (D-NE) voting with the entire Republican caucus to support the filibuster. The GOP continues to oppose all economic stimulus proposals that involve spending money on jobs, and take even greater exception to Obama’s jobs bills, which pays for that spending with a small surtax on millionaires.

Or are the jobs for teachers and firefighters part of the "zero" jobs that government creates?

The article you posted is misleading. The U.S. Senate is controlled by a Democratic majority. The truth is, is that several Democratic Senators, including Ben Nelson, voted against it. The Senate has 50 Democrats, 49 Republicans and 1 Independent. If every Democrat voted for this bill, it would have passed. In case of a tie, Vice President Biden could have voted. It was the Senators who wish to keep their jobs in the next election that voted against Obama's union/pay-back bill. It would help him with the union vote but would not add jobs. Look at how Obama's bailouts and stimulus packages foster job growth in America. He gives half a billion dollars in loans to a company to build cars. Cars in America you say? Sorry, those cars are being built in Finland. Don't even get me started on Solyndra.

The American public is greatly concerned about the vast amounts of money the Obama administration has wasted and most people are aware of the fact that Obama's so-called jobs bill is nothing more than Failed Stimulas Part Deux.

Obama needs to follow the age old adage, "When one finds themself in a hole, it is time to quit digging."

As far as Republicans and "job bills":

While congressional Republicans have certainly introduced dozens of bills on social issues and other topics, the claim that the GOP has focused on issues other than job creation just isn't supported. The numbers cited in the post include Democratic bills, and the definition of what constitutes a "job creation" bill is open to significant debate.

But the post’s most important flaw is the contention that Republicans have offered "zero" bills on job creation. This number stems from a methodology that also excludes Obama’s American Jobs Act from the category of "job creation" bills. If you look at alternative job-related subject headings, the number of bills offered by lawmakers from both parties actually exceeds most of the social-issues listed in the blog post. We rate this claim Pants on Fire.

No results found for "US house creates jobs under democrats". It's a phrase search, it has quotes. Lamest thread of the year, absolutely no doubt.

The major power of the House is to pass federal legislation that affects the entire country and initiate revenue bills.

If the Nation is concerned about the Economy, Unemployment and Jobs -
Why hasn't the House under the Republican Tea Party Leadership passed a Bill to create jobs thus far in the 112th Session?
It's in quotes so there is no pages with that specific string of text which should come as no surprise.

For the record 82 million results without the quotes and 0 results if we switch out Republicans for Democrats with the quotes.

Your point was ?

----edit------

Now we have 3 results with Republicans pointing to this topic and still 0 for Democrats.

Well here in North Carolina since republicans have taken over both houses, the unemployment rate has skyrocketed to 10.5% from 9.6%. Think what would happen if they took over congress!!!!!!!

Yeah.

Don't blame that on the Republicans.

Unemployment has soared throughout the U.S. because of strangling government regulations and a market that can't find its feet.

Businesses, from the smallest to the largest, are afraid to hire because of the general air of instability that has settled over our economy.

The problem for the average American worker: Businesses have learned to make money by cutting costs (i.e., jobs) or relocating to China and India. And it's not merely that it's cheaper to operate overseas; a huge part of the problem is the fear that it's going to keep getting more expensive to hire here.

Both small-business owners, and analysts who cover these companies tell me that many American businesses would like to stay here, but they see no letup in sight in the endless stream of taxes and regulations coming from an administration most of them consider anti-business.

Here are the so-called jobs bills the House Republicans have sent to the Senate. Unless you are an oil company hoping to expand your range of drilling, there are no jobs here. And no, deregulating the EPA is not creating jobs.

There's too much democrat obstructionism standing in the way. Racism is also an issue. In addition to all of that it's also Bush's fault.
