It doesn't take a crystal ball to see what comes next in this scenario. We are still apes, and we still naturally keep our "Silverback" status by finding a big stick and whopping on any other other apes who dare to challenge us.
China is a permanent member of the UN Security Council. That in itself gives it more global power and control than 95%+ of the UN member states. Given that that status is accommodated with vetoing powers, the UN can't take any stringent actions against China the same way it couldn't during the Cold War against either the US or the Soviet Union. In addition to this, the general consensus (verifiable data) in the strategic studies community is that China along with Russia are the only two states which have the offensive capabilities to ensure mutually assured destruction should either state engage in a nuclear war with the US. Did I mention that China is the largest creditor in the world economy?

But sure, they're communists...

See how much of the EU China buys before you say they don't influence other nations. Hell they influence the US. Only reason we run around with guns is to ensure oil is traded in dollars. China would take a hit if the dollar wasn't the reserve currency anymore but I don't think they'd mind that much.

They also believe the US would ask permission to launch attacks from Diego Garcia, the British Indian ocean territory, which the Americans have used previously for conflicts in the Middle East.
The Guardian has spoken to a number of Whitehall and defence officials over recent weeks who said Iran was once again becoming the focus of diplomatic concern after the revolution in Libya.
Would it be too much to ask, that he go thru Congress this time around?
I assume Ackmadinijad is rounding up his doubles as we speak. I thought we were going after Syria first. What's Iran got that we want? And aren't we still in Uganda, saving them from the defunct LRA? I can't keep track of all the action -our media is too obsessed with Cain to tell us what's really going on.

What an outrageous thing to say. I'm with Ron Paul on this, they are not a threat to us or Israel, they aren't that stupid. I'm expecting a false flag any day now. Anything to take the heat off Obama and get his poll numbers up.

You don't seem aware that the budderhood are our allies now.

Russia backs Iran and China backs Pakistan and debts are just promises to repay money that is already spent.

Anyone else see where this is going? Do you think the gubberment is stupid enough to get into hock to the tune of 15-20 trillion dollars with no possible way of paying it back and then just sit back and accept the inevitable collapse that will follow, along with simply acquiescing the position of top dog to their creditors?

NO! They are quietly looting the wealth of countries poised to eclipse us in the future, and they intend to go to war with them down the road and wipe them out. Money is a tool, not wealth and very large negative numbers are easily erased on a computer, especially if they are owed to "the enemy". True wealth is the access and means to acquire and distribute resources.

They are betting for another glorious post WW2 golden age where old debts are erased, we reign and our competitors are too devastated to compete with us anymore. The only other option is eventual pandemonium and societal collapse.
Problem: China can kick our butts, specially with Russia backing.

Weird assumption and extrapolating there. About all China can do is take away our credit cards.

And the US needs to stay out of it and mind it's own business.
