I say we welcome them in. They have been a territory for too long.
The only reason they are not a state is that Republicans think they would lose advantage. They are all for liberty, except when it really matters.

All we need is for Ron Paul to get the lead, and we would get rid of a lot of waste.

LOL...you want to let them go so badly, but hell at least they have ties to the United States for well over a century. PR's are citizens and have fought in every one of our wars since becoming a commonwealth.

Meanwhile, we can't seem to find a way to get out of Korea, Germany, Japan, Afghanistan, Kuwait, etc....nations that we pump BILLIONS into every year.

How about first things first. Before we start worrying about what to do about a U.S. Territory that contains loyal and patriotic citizens, why don't we get the hell out of places that we have no business being at this point.

Isn't Puerto Rico the largest per capita recipient of welfare in the country? They aren't going anywhere.

It's their choice, but I don't think it would be to their benefit - their standard of living is much higher than that of the surrounding islands, it stands to reason that being part of a 1st world country is a good thing.

Most states would kill to have a governor like PR's.

Last I've read, PR is split nearly evenly between those who want to become a state and those who want to remain a territory. Virtually none of them want independence.
