Jesse Ventura's lawsuit over airport body search tossed | Grand Forks Herald | Grand Forks, North Dakota

ST. PAUL
A federal judge Thursday tossed out former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura's lawsuit that argued body searches at airports violated his right against unreasonable and unwarranted searches.

In her dismissal, U.S. District Judge Susan Richard Nelson didn't address the merits of Ventura's suit, but rather said she lacked jurisdiction to hear the case.

She wrote that Ventura was challenging a Transportation Security Administration order and that the law says such directives can be challenged only in a federal court of appeals.

Ventura, miffed by court, says he's off to Mexico

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Former Minn. Gov. Jesse Ventura is so upset by a judge's ruling on his airport security lawsuit that he says he'll apply for dual citizenship so he can spend more time in his beloved Mexico.

Ventura sued the federal government in January, alleging that airport scans and pat-downs amounted to unreasonable search and seizure. A district judge in St. Paul threw out his lawsuit Thursday, ruling it should have been filed in a Circuit Court of Appeals.

I used to like Jesse, and actually admired him for his approach to governing back in the late 90's/early 2000's. But somewhere along the way the guy just went whacko radical. I'm not much a fan anymore.

Maybe we should let the local municipal court decide Roe V Wade?

Seriously, Jesse must have filed that suit himself....there is a reason they called him 'the body" and not "the mind".

Derp derp derp....challenges federal law in the wrong court and then pouts and runs to Mexico.....derp derp derp.

So why can Jesse now only go to a Federal Court of Appeals? What would he be appealing?.

He could be appealing the first judges decision that they don't jurisdiction. (He will lose)

OR

He could pull his head out of his rectum and file a NEW suit at the federal level.

I personally believe that either:
a) Jesse and his legal adviser are nuts.

OR

b) Jesse and his legal adviser know full well their suit would be struck down but it's cheap and easy to file such a suit, have it obviously thrown out and then rail about the unfairness of the govt. not even listening to your suit.

He's getting donations, selling books and driving traffic to his website without having to bear the expense of a REAL federal challenge. Laughing all the way to the bank probably.
